NEWS RELEASE
ROYAL VICTORIA REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE
Barriston Law, one of Simcoe-Muskoka’s most recognized and trusted legal firms, has announced a generous $200,000 donation to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. This is Barriston’s largest gift to RVH and will support the advancement of patient care in the region.
“Every year we discuss how our firm can make the greatest impact in the communities in which we live and work,” says Barriston Law’s managing partner and chief innovation officer, Joanne McPhail. “Without our health, we don’t have much, and our communities certainly do not thrive.
“RVH is unique in that almost every member of our community is positively impacted by the hospital in some way. Whether that is through the excellent care that they receive for themselves or a family member, the employment opportunities that the hospital provides, or simply peace of mind, we know our hospital is there for us when we need it.”
Donor support is vital to RVH. It is donations from the community that fund crucial, life-saving equipment, research, capital projects and more. As the population grows, the need for RVH to meet that rising demand becomes even more critical and the generosity of the community makes that possible.
“We are thrilled that Barriston Law has demonstrated its support for RVH through this generous gift,” says Paul Larche, chair, RVH Foundation. “It is because of the ongoing generosity of organizations and businesses in our community that RVH continues to provide word-class patient care, right here at home.”
“We are so proud that our firm is able to make this pledge to the RVH Foundation, and we truly hope that it inspires others to do the same,” says McPhail.
